 Presumed drowned, whilst a POW, after sinking of S.S. Col Di Lana, 18 miles N/NW of Capo San Vito Siculo, (NW of Palermo). There were 48 POW's on board, 27 of which were lost. The ship was torpedoed by a Vickers Welligton of 221 Sqn, RAF.
