Cause of Death:
Killed in action, Manchester I L7485, took off 2050 16 April 1942 from Coningsby on this crew's first operation to lay mines in the Deodar region. Presumed lost in the English Channel. Deodars Region was the minelaying area code name for the mouth of the Gironde River the Air Staff Operations Summery confirms that mines were dropped " off Verdon (Gironde)" that night. Aircraft crashed off Batz-sur-Mer between Belle-lle and Batz. An engine of this aircraft caught in fishing net and is in an aviation museum at Le Baule, France
