Reported missing, presumed killed, at Sidi Rezegh. It was unofficially reported that he had lost his life when returning to "spike the guns". His discs were found on the battlefield.

Son of Richard William Thomas Ignatius and Mary Ellen Seed. Born in Pietermaritzburg. Educated at Boys' Model School, Pietermaritzburg. After Bothie, he did not go to sea, but was two years in business. He later joined the Permanent Defence Force as a Gunner and during WW2 served in the Third Field Regiment, SAA.
