Cause of Death:
Killed in action, Wellington T2473 took-off from RAF Honington at 20.00hrs for an operation on Berlin. Nothing further was heard from this aircraft after take off. The loss of this aircraft was claimed by Orbit. Fritz Gutezeit, Stab III./NJG. The International Red Cross reported later that all the crew had been killed. This was the only aircraft lost from the Squadron on this operation
