Information:
Son of Arthur B. and Susan M. R. Bowen, of Kimberley, Cape Province, South Africa. b. 29 April 1920. He joined the Transvaal Scottish on 1 July 1939, aged 19 years. He served with them in East Africa and Abyssinia and was killed in action on 24 November 1941 at the Battle of Sidi Rezegh whilst on detached duty. He was a member of the ack-ack section of the 1st Transvaal Scottish. His watch was taken from his body and returned to his mother, it was inscribed, 'To Duncan from Dorothy, 29.4.41'
