 Killed in action, Kittyhawk IV FX622, shot down near Rieti, believed shot down by Bf109's - aircraft later recovered and used by 450 Sqdn, the aircraft discovery near Rieti led to the burial location of the pilot, he had been buried in a vault of a local church, but because he had not been wearing his identity disc his location had not been known for some time
