Information:
Son of Rev. William Nimmo Brown and Catherine Georgianz Brown, of "Nieppe", Heseldon Road, Rondebosch, Cape Town. Born South Africa. Educated at George Watson's College, in 1906. Distinguished himself as a three-quarter in the XV. and A.S.M. in the College Troop of Scouts. Returning to South Africa in 1911, he found employment in the Government Bacteriological Dept. Enlisting in the Cape Peninsular Rifles in August 1914, he came overseas as Second Lieutenant in the S.A. Infantry. After serving in Egypt he gained his lieutenancy and was transferred to France in May 1916. On Rondebosch War Memorial in St. Paul's Anglican Churchyard. His brother also died in service.
