Cause of Death:
Died of wounds, shell wound left shoulder and left upper chest. He was wounded on 10 October during a counter-attack on the RNC positions on Mount Stanco, Italy, by elements of the 16th SS Division. After being hospitalised, he appeared to be on the mend but relapsed on the 6 November and died 2 days later

Son of Frederick Raymond and Phoebe Annie Brown, of 17 Bonvista Mansions, Twist Street, Johannesburg. Born in Durban. Enlisted direct from school. He was unmarried.
