Cause of Death:
Died in Freak Accident, working on the engine of Aircraft MW300 as an armourer Air Mechanic Petre serviced the guns. The port mainplaine gun was accidently discharged and 4 rounds hit Bruyns in the head killing him instantly. Petrie was checking the gun hydraulic system and had not checked to see if the guns were still loaded before pressing the firing button
