Son of Maj. George Griffith Ffloyd Chomley and Nancy Chomley, of Bolton, Marandellas, Southern Rhodesia. "One of the few" Battle of Britain pilot. Probably entered the RAF as a direct-entry Airman u/t Pilot in 1939. With his training completed, he was commissioned and arrived at 6 OTU, Sutton Bridge on 8th June 1940 to convert to Hurricanes. On Ruzawi Preparatory School War Memorial, near Marandellas, Rhodesia. On war memorial in Marandellas, Rhodesia. Now known as Marondera, Zimbabwe.
