Torpedoed and sunk by Japanese I-165. En route from Durban, South Africa to Colombo, Ceylon. I-165's commander LtCdr Shimizu ordered his crewmen to open fire on the MOLLER's survivors. Thirty-two are killed by machine-gun and pistol fire.
