Husband of Dora Martha Richardson, of Clairwood, Natal. Previous service in Royston's Horse 1906. In WW1 previously served in South West Africa and German East Africa with 8th South African Horse. Reported to have jumped into water and re-boarded ship to encourage blacks to jump in the water who were afraid to leave.
