Cause of Death:
 Died in Aircraft Accident, Beechcraft Baron. He was detached from 17 Sqn on special duties and was piloting the plane as he had extensive experience on the type with Light Aircraft Command. The plane, known as "Dinky Toy" was supplied by UNITA and had been checked out by SAAF personnel at Rundu. It was busy with aerial observations for Battlegroup Foxbat in the Silva Porta area of Angola when it crashed, 6km north of Norton de Matos. The SADF investigation team could not determine the exact cause of the crash.
