Son of Abraham Cohen and Leah Lily Aslwang (Cohen), of Cape Town. From Malmesbury, South Africa. He escaped POW camp at Tobruk in 1942 and gave up the chance to become a Corporal so he could go to Italy. Owner of personal gear found them in a suitcase in his old house' garage. He petitioned the SA government in 1999 to issue his medals as they were not awarded to him posthumously. A clerk for the SAR&H in Windhoek, South West Africa. ***Jewish
