Information:
Son of John William and Edith Marion Eldridge Ives, of Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa. Born Bellicourt, Aisne, France on the 29th December, 1923. Educated at Yeoville Intermediate School, Johannesburg. In 1940 he joined the RNR as Temporary Midshipman, and was a survivor when the HMS Comorin, on which he was serving, was lost. He later went to the Naval College at Hove where he collapsed and died on the 29th May, 1941. Ex-cadet of the South African Training Ship General Botha.
