LG Sup 26 July 1918 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during a hostile attack in command of his section. For a long period the battery position was subjected to heavy shelling and machine-gun fire, causing severe casualties, but by his courage and resource and fine example he inspired his men, and kept his guns in action throughout the day, affording support to the infantry at a very critical time." |
