Died in Aircraft Accident, Lysander II N1217, Flt Lt Milne with Colonel Stevens as his passenger failed to find their destination due to bad visibility. He was on a special recce mission to Dinjan. The aircraft took off at 1600 hours, and were unable to gain height to clear the mountains west of Fort Hertz. Milne decided to return to base but ran short of fuel. In an attempted force-landing on the tea garden road at Dum Duma, the aircraft swung and overturned. The pilot was killed and his passenger badly injured with a broken spine |
