Killed in action, during attack on Bardia, North Africa. He was buried at Map ref 5173 3907 but his body was, reportedly, not recovered. There is a possibility that he is buried as "Unknown" in grave 13 F 1 in Halfaya Sollum Cemetry in Libya as that unknown body was exhumed at 5168 3907, which is about 200 meters away. Documentation at the Archive shows he was originally buried on 2 Jan 1942, beneath the "O" in "EL HOMER", Bardia Sheet 3 F.S 50.000 Map reference 5185 3928, which differs from the reported position. |
