Son of Capt. Clavell William Simpson Blount, R.N. and Elizabeth Ann (nee Plant) Blount. Husband of Florence Elizabeth Blount, of 5, Pennsylvania Crescent, Exeter, Devon, England. Born Holywood, County Down, Ireland. Served in Boer War #9523 54th Coy., 13th Bn, Imperial Yeomanry on 9 Jan 1900 in Belfast for one year with the Colours, and was discharged at his own request on 31 December 1900 in Johannesburg. Enlisted August, 1914. Also served in German South West Africa and Egypt. Previously wounded January, 1916.
