Additional
Information:
Son of John Edward and Ellen Radcliffe. Sister of Mrs. W. Haigh, of 'Fair Oaks' Samares, Jersey, Channel Islands. She was born in Calcutta, India and had a brother and a sister living in the UK. But I think that she considered South Africa her home (see her will and where she had her hospital training. Where she mentions that she was trained in London Hospital I think that this is East London in South Africa). She had been in South Africa nursing from 1905 to 1915 and had it not been for the war I think that she would have seen her days out there. I think that she made her way to the UK at her own expense and applied for the QAIMNS.
