Died of wounds, injuries to his arms and chest, in contact with enemy infantry and a Tiger tank in the vicinity of Radda, Italy. He was hospitalized and placed on the Dangerous Injuries list on the 18th July but appeared to be recovering as he was moved to the Serious Injures list on the 15 August. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries 8 days later
