Cause of Death:
Died of accidental injuries, received 31 October 1944 when he got a piece of hacksaw blade in his eye. He was taken to 31 British Hospital in Arezzo where he underwent an operation. He was administered penicillin but his condition deteriorated until he died of cardiac failure
