Information:
Son of Thomas and Mary Anne Venables. Born Liverpool Plains, Murrurundi district, New South Wales, Australia. Served with Queensland Mounted Infantry in Boer War. Afterwards he stayed on in Southern Africa and became a gold miner in Hartley, Southern Rhodesia. In 1915 at the age of 39 he sailed to England to volunteer in the army. His half brother George Frank Venables also died in service ref. South African Roll of Honour 1914-1918
