Cause of Death:
 Died of wounds, critically wounded during live-firing practice at the shooting range when he was struck in the head by a bullet ricochet. He was rushed to hospital in King William's Town but unfortunately Died of wounds in the ambulance while still en-route to the Hospital.

He is the only known Naval Cadet Officer to die in the course of his duties.
