Died of heat exhaustion, at 1 Military Hospital. While at Grootfontein, he was sentenced to a period in the Detention Barracks where he was over exercised and collapsed, suspected heat exhaustion. Charges of culpable homicide and perjury were laid against 6 members, two Military Policemen from the Detention Barracks and 4 prisoners, when it was alleged that he had also been assaulted. The results of this case are unknown
