MC LG Sup 17 Sept 1917 pg. 9568 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on two occasions, in entering a dug out which had been wrecked by hostile shell fire, extricating the victims and carrying them to the dressing station, three hundred yards away, under heavy and continuous shell fire. By this prompt and gallant action he and his N.C.O. were the direct means of saving many lives, as the place was again hit directly after his work was completed. Son of Major John Quayle Dickson DSO, of Knockaloe, Isle of Man. Born 1888 in Douglas, Isle of Man. Educated at Kings College School London; Camborne School of Mines (Cornwall). A mining engineer.
