LG Sup 9 September 1942 pg. 3949 - "Throughout the operations of "E" Force in the desert between 18 November 1941 and 31 March 1942, this officer was continuously brought to my attention (Major L. W. Favre) by his gallant and forceful conduct. He was himself instrumental in the successful harassing and shooting up of enemy columns on the Acadabia Road in the Haselet area and elsewhere, on more than one occasion. His example of courage throughout have been of the greatest value, not only to me, but to the whole force. One of his finest efforts was in extricating one of his guns when at one period the force was overrun by tanks."
