Cause of Death:
Killed in action, Halifax W7760 was one of fourteen 35 Squadron aircraft detailed to attack Hamburg on the night of the 26/27 July 1942. W7760 failed to return and the squadron's Operations Record Book shows "Took off from Linton to attack Hamburg. The last fix obtained for this aircraft was 54.57N, 6.00E after an SOS had been received. The aircraft failed to return. An SOS was received and the last fix obtained showed him some 300 miles out at sea. Search was made and continued on the following day for this and other aircraft known to be down in the sea but nothing was seen of any survivors.
