MC LG Sup 22 August 1918 - (with 5th Kaffarian Rifles) - "For distinguished service in the field and in connection with the campaign in German South West Africa." Bar to MC LG Sup 24 September 1918 pg. 11282 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He was commanding the reserve battalion when the enemy broke through on the right. He immediately counter-attacked and held back the enemy while the whole line retired. By his determination and good leadership he instilled great confidence into his men"
