Information:
Son of Mrs. Greathead, of 97, Inverness Terrace, Paddington, London and the late J. B. Greathead, M.B., of Grahamstown, South Africa. Born 1-August-1895. Educated at St. Andrew's College, Grahamstown. At St Andrew's from July, 1908-April, 1914. Was at Christs College, Cambridge to study medicine, joined O.T.C. at once but the Government were in doubt as to whether it was his duty to volunteer or continue with his studies. He took the decision himself by giving up medicine and accepting a commission in the Rifle Brigade. He went to France in the summer and was killed in October, 1916. ref.
