Died in Aircraft Accident, Beechcraft AT8, crashed near the summit of The Old Man of Coniston. The aircraft took off from Ayr with destination Limavady (Northern Ireland) and from there to Henlow, Bedfordshire. On board also were Mr. P. BRANSON and Mr. KEITH, both US Civilian Ferry Pilots

Educated at St. Andrew's College, Grahamstown. His brother, Arthur Wilfred Gordon also died on service. Commemorated on Lane End Church War Memorial
