Killed in action, attack on Houthulst Forest. On October 12th the 3rd Guards' Brigade attacked enemy positions south of Houthulst Forest. This machine gun company sent 14 guns to assist. Six were detailed for Barrage fire under Lt Cooke at [Wijzenroff?], two under 2nd Lieut Fallows at Pascal Farm, three under 2nd Lieut Hamilton went forward with the advancing Infantry while three guns under Lieut Wallis were in immediate reserve about Egypt House
