Died of wounds, received when two companies of the 4th S.A.I. relieved elements of the 2nd S.A.I. in Bernafay Wood. A platoon of the 4th S.A.I. was at the Briqueterie and its A Coy, in action in Trone Wood since the 9th, was relieved on the night of the 10th/11th.

Son of George Bredell, of Johannesburg, South Africa. Attended Jeppe High School for Boys. Joined the School in January, 1906, left December, 1912 in which year he matriculated. Played for the Cricket XI and kept goal for the Football XI. On Jeppe High School for Boys Roll of Honour
