Died in Aircraft Accident, Hampden I X2921, aircraft took off from Waddington at 21.15, it was caryying a mine that was to be dropped in Kiel Bay, Germany - a mission known as "gardening". It crashed just 2 minutes later after failing to gain height. The mine and fuel tanks exploded on impact killing all 4 people on board

Additional Information
Son of Harold and Maud Watt, of Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia. His watch was found by someone doing some metal detecting at the crash site in 2007.
