Son of George and Margaret (nee Milne) Watt, of Peterhead, Scotland. Husband of Elizabeth (Lizzie) (nee McMillan) Watt, of Malvern P.O., Durban, Natal. He had 5 children. Born Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. A wood machinist. Served as Trooper (#25894) with the 1st Battalion, Scottish Horse in the ABW 1899-1902. Served with the DLI in GSWA 1914-1915. His brother Sailor GEORGE WATT, Mercantile Marine, S.S. "Lough," 30 March 1918 also died in service. Commemorated on Malvern WWI Service Scroll; on WWI Memorials at the Durban Cenotaph; the Durban Light Infantry & at Hillary, which is now at the Queensburgh RFC.
