LG Sup 30 December 1941 pg. 7339 - "At Madoca, near Gelib on 22 February 1941, while under heavy fire, L/Bdr Wocke reeled out over 1000 yards of cable singlehanded. He was unable to take cover and had to walk slowly. Through his devotion to duty phone communication was established with the front line."
