 Killed in action, at Elundu, in contact with the enemy. He was captured and could not walk, so he was murdered in the cruelest way imaginable, by shooting him from head to toe, on automatic, with an AK47, and then stabbing him 42 times with a bayonet

Additional Information
Son of Mr. J. C. L. Ferreira, of Hospital Park, Bloemfontein. Riflemen Hunter, Bosch and Ferreira were on guard duty at a small post near the waterhole at Elundu, when their position was overrun by SWAPO. In the same incident, Sapper van der Mescht was captured and taken to Angola.
