Son of Edwards James and Louisa Jane Humphrys. Husband of Helena Elizabeth Humphrys, of 4, Saltram Terrace, Plympton, Devon (formerly 6 Belgravia Road, Kimberley). Born Devonport. A stationer in Devonport, before a brief stint in Stevenage as a bookseller before he emigrated to South Africa. He moved to Kimberley, becoming a manager there before being commissioned into the Kimberley Regt. Served with the Kimberley Regiment in the ABW 1899-1902. On Masonic Roll of Honour 1914-1918. Commemorated on Kimberley Club War Memorial.
