LG Sup 14 November 1916 - "For conspicuous gallantry in action. When digging a communication trench the enemy opened fire with a machine-gun on the troops in front and on his own party. He at once attacked with bombers and riflemen, and captured the gun."
Son of Hugh and Ellen (Nellie) Wiles Anderson. Husband of Molly Anderson, of 143, High Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight. Born Newcastle, Natal, South Africa. Educated Newcastle High School. His brother Augustus Eric Hugh Anderson also died in service. Commemorated on Newcastle WWI Memorial in lychgate at Newcastle Old Cemetery, KZN
