Missing, Death Presumed. Possibly died in Orvieto tragedy. A POW in Camp 82 (Latorina) and had escaped when the Italian Forces had abandoned the POW camp in 1943. It was reported by witnesses that he had fallen in love with an Italian girl from the Appolini family in Porto San Giorgio. Inquiries by the War Record Office in 1949 suggested that he had been repatriated by the British Forces. |
